TRAVEL INSURANCE
INCLUDED IN OUR PACKAGES

Assistance wherever you are by Navale Assicurazioni in cooperation with the Operative Station of "Europe Assistance".

The present document is an abstract of the insurance policy undersigned by Contractors (Tour operators or Travelling agencies) and issued to travellers in order to inform them about insurance conditions.

The validity of the present document is subordinate to the Italian law and to the compliance of policy application rules.

For " incoming" travels to Italy, the services will be granted by replacing the word " Italy" with the name of the country of the traveller's residence.

1) MEDICAL CONSULTATION AND SPECIALIST INDICATION
Health check-up of the traveller by the doctors of the Operative Station in order to decide the most suitable medical services and, if necessary, the notification of a specialist in the nearest area in which the traveller is staying.

2) URGENT MEDICINES FORWARDING if they are not available on spot and on condition that they are commercialized in Italy.

3) TRAVELLER'S SANITARY RE-ENTRY by the most suitable means of transport to the residence place or to an hospital in Italy: this decision will be taken by the doctors of the Operative Station if they consider the accident or the disease not beeing curable on spot. Transportation will be fully organized by Navale SOS at its own expenses and will be comprenhensive of medical or nursing assistance, if necessary. The transport from Extra Europe Countries, except those of the Mediterranean Basin and Canary Islands, will be executed exclusively by economic class flight and, if that is the case, on a stretcher.

4) CONVALESCENT TRAVELLER'S RE-ENTRY
In case the traveller's health state does not allow his/her re-entry by the means of transport initially forseen, the company will take care of the transport and of the supplementary staying expenses for a maximum of three days.

5) CORPSE TRANSPORTATION of the traveller from death place to burial place in Italy. Expenses concerning funeral services and possible corpse recuperation are excluded.

6) RE-ENTRY OF RELATIVES (if insured) or of a travelling companion as consequence of the traveller's sanitary or/and death re-entry.

7) TRAVELLER'S EARLIER RE-ENTRY to his/her residence due to the death of a relative in Italy (consort, children, brother or sister, parents, father-in-law, mother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law) if he or she asks to re-entry before the fixed date and by means of transport different from the one initially foreseen.

Notice
The services which go from point 3 to point 7 are granted previous agreement with the Operative Station and a possible travelling ticket, as originally foreseen, will be delivered. Should the traveller not consult the Operative Station and organize the re-entry by himself/herself, he/she will be reimbursed in a strict measure and within a limit of euro 750 upon production of medical certificate issued on the spot and expenses documentation.

8) JOURNEY OF A RELATIVE
Should the traveller be hospitalized for a period exceeding 10 days and a relative of age should not be on the spot, a return flight ticket or return railways ticket will be reimbursed in order to allow a member of the family to visit the patient.

9) INTERPRETER ABROAD
Should the traveller be hospitalized or involved in legal procedure for culpable facts happened abroad and should he/she find difficulties in communication in local language, the Operative Station will send an interpreter at its own expenses but only for the professional action and for a maximum amount of euro 500.

10) LEGAL ASSISTANCE
Should the traveller be considered chargeable with penal or civil facts happened abroad, the Operative Station will indicate the name of a lawyer for the traveller's defence. Furthermore the Operative Station will advance, against suitable bank guarantee and within a limit of euro 3000, the possible penal bail which might be asked by the judge.

 

MEDICAL EXPENSES

11) The present guarantee is granted directly by Navale Assicurazioni SpA which - will pay directly, previous authorization from the Operative Station, or - will reimburse the expenses (for hospitalization within the cost limit of public hospitals) upon presentation of the documents required in the chapter 20 of the section "How to act". For expenses exceeding € 1.000 a previous authorization by the Operative Station will be required.

The present guarantee is to be considered valid only for medical services and transport to the nearest hospital, the necessity of which may appear during the travel and not postponable to the re-entry moment to the residence place and with the following limits: -abroad euro 3000 -in Italy euro 300 and a fee of € 40 for each fact will be deducted from the amount.

 

LUGGAGE GUARANTEE

12) INSURANCE SUBJECT
Within an amount of € 500, Navale Assicurazioni SpA will reimburse losses due to larceny, robbery, bag-snatching, fire of the luggage the Insured had with him/her during the travel. Clothes, worn objects, non-returned or damaged luggage caused by the transporter to whom it had been consigned, will be included in the present guarantee. The indemnity will be granted on the basis of a commercial valutation, effected on the wear conditions of the same at the moment of the facts and, in no case, affective values will be taken into consideration. The reimbursement for identification documents which have to be done again will be limited to € 75.

The reimbursement will be limited to the 50% of the insured amount for:

  1. jewels, watches, furs and other valuables;
  2. photocineoptical appliances, radio-television sets and electronic apparatus.
    Such a guarantee will not be issued if the above mentioned articles will be inside the luggage consigned to a transporter. Reimbursement is also limited for each single article to the 50% of the insured amount and photocineoptical outfits (lens, filters, flash lamps, batteries, etc.) will be considered as a single object.
    Objects left in the car, camper, caravan, motocycles or other vehicles will be considered insured at the condition that they are locked inside the luggage van, not in sight from outside and that the means of trasport are left inside a guarded parking place at payment.

13) FIRST NEED EXPENSES
In case of delayed (not inferior to 12 hours) or no-returned luggage by the transporter, Navale Assicurazioni SpA will reimburse, within the insured amount of € 150, the proved expenses for first need purchases done before the end of the travel.

14) INSURANCE COVERING LIMITATIONS

  1. The traveller is due to safeguard the reimbursement right of Navale Assicurazioni SpA towards the persons liable for loss or damage of the luggage: therefore he/she has to make immediately a written complaint to the hotel-keeper, transporter or other responsible person. He/she is obliged to report cases of stealing, bag-snatching or robbering to the police station of the place where the facts have happened.
  2. Only in the case of damage or no-restitution of the luggage previously delivered to the air transporter, the reimbursement will follow the one of the responsible transporter and will be proportional to the damnage value: it will be possible to claim it only if the given indemnity does not cover the whole amount of the damnage.

15) PARTIAL RESPONSIBILITY 
A fee of € 40 will be deducted from the reimbursements above mentioned in points 12 and 13: such deduction will not be effectuated in case of integrative reimbursement of the air transporter as mentioned in the point 14 B.

 

EXCLUSIONS AND GENERAL RULES

16) Services will not be granted if they are caused as consequence of:

  1. traveller's fraud or negligence;
  2. war, civil war, strikes, revolutions, rising or popular revolt, pillages, terroristic and vandalic acts;
  3. earthquake, floods, atmospheric phenomena with natural calamity characteristics, nucleus transmutation of the atom, radiations due to artificial acceleration of atomic particles;
  4. accidents as consequence of the following activities: mountains climbing with rocks clinbing and glaciers access, air sports in general, rashness acts, car races and competions, speedboat and motor-cycling races and training, futhermore all the accidents suffered as consequence of professional sporting activities;
  5. sickness and accidents due to alcohol and excessive use of psycho-drugs as well as the non-therapeutic use of narcotics and hallucinating drugs;
  6. chronic diseases, neuropsychiatric diseases or pathologies pre-existing the beginning of the travel;
  7. travels made against medical advice or done with the purpose of undertaking medical or surgical treatment.

Are furthermore excluded:

  1. the expenses for researches in the mountais, in the sea and in the desert;
  2. the services in those countries in which the assistance is impossible because of a war;
  3. losses of money, travelling tickets, securities, collections of any kind and sets of samples;
  4. damnages or breaks of the luggage unless they are a consequence of theft, robbery, bag-snatching or have been caused by the transporter;
  5. losses of objects left unguarded or caused by forgetfulness or mislaying;
  6. losses, damnages or medical expenses concerning facts reported to Navale Assicurazioni SpA but after 30 days from the moment of their happening.

17) Guarantees start and end at the moment and in the place indicated in the application form or programe of the Tour Operator and will be operative for a period not exceeding 45 days from the beginning of the travel.

18) For " incoming" travels to Italy, the services will be granted by replacing the word " Italy" with the name of the country of the traveller's residence.

 

HOW TO ACT

19) ASSISTANCE (guarantee from point 1 to 10) will be obtained by phoning to Milan at the number

The traveller is due to give the Operative Station the card numbers and letters and indicate the address where he/she is and a phone number where to be contacted. The traveller frees the doctors who have visited or treated him/her before or after the fact from the professional secrecy but only for the facts concerning the present service. For abroad resident people who make a travel from Italy, re-entry expenses will be kept within the cost limits of a re-entry to Italy.

20) IN ORDER TO OBTAIN MEDICAL EXPENSES REIMBURSEMENT the traveller has to send the request to

together with the following information and documents:
20.1 family name, name, address, number and letter series of Navale SOS card;
20.2 diagnosis from local doctor;
20.3 original invoices or receipts payed by the traveller.

21) In order to obtain THE REIMBURSEMENT FOR LOSS OR DAMNAGE OF THE LUGGAGE the traveller has to send to Navale Assicurazioni SpA and to the address indicated on the point 20, the following informations and documents:
21.1 family name, name, address, numbers and letters series of Navale SOS card;
21.2 detailed description of the circumstances in which the accident has happened;
21.3 description, value, buying date of the lost or damnaged objects, reparation estimate or irreparability statement;
21.4 in case of luggage consigned to the air transporter: copy of loss or damnage report (RIB or PIR) and copy of the complaint sent, within law terms, to the air transporter and possible reply from the same; in case of luggage consigned to the sea/land transporter or to the hotel-keeper: copy of the complaint, duly countersigned for receipt by the transporter or hotel-keeper and their reply; in case of no-returned luggage: copy of denouncement to the police station of the place and copy of the written complaint to possible responsables (hotel, restaurant, garage, etc.) and their reply;
21.5 in case of first need expenses: receipts stating the cost and the nature of the purchased goods.
